••• WELCOME TO STRINGS & KEYS! JULY 4-10, 2010

Strings & Keys was founded in 1995 to provide an exceptional summer music experience in a beautiful location for enthusiastic pianists and string players of all ages. Under the direction of Laurie & Jamie Syer the event has grown to attract faculty and students from across Canada. FOR 2010 Strings & Keys introduces a new format focusing on chamber music. Students may apply to perform one or more complete works from the selected repertoire list. Applications are accepted from individual players and pre-established chamber ensembles. Each string player will be assigned two works to rehearse and perform during the week. String players will focus exclusively on their chamber music. Pianists will rehearse and perform one chamber work, and should also give a list of solo repertoire they plan to prepare for performance in piano master classes. Billeting with local families is offered for students outside the Bergen area, for an additional cost of $100. There may be a charge for students arriving in Calgary by plane or bus and requiring transportation to Strings & Keys. For students attending with their families, there is a variety of accommodation available in the Bergen and Sundre district.
