$4,000 in Scholarships Awarded - May 3, 2009
Through the generosity of the family and friends of Emily Stauffer, Strings & Keys offers an annual scholarship for deserving students from smaller or rural communities, who may not otherwise be able to attend.
Emily was a 13-year-old violin student at Strings & Keys 2008 who was tragically murdered in Edson, Alberta. The funds to support this continuing scholarship were raised at a community event in Edson, in November 2008.
The scholarship are available to those students who may need financial support for travel, accommodation, tuition, and other expenses related to attending Strings & Keys. The scholarship may be offered to more than one student from the same family, or may make it possible for a student's parents to accompany their child to Strings & Keys.
Almost $4,000 in scholarships have been awarded for Strings & Keys 2009.
